A few haaros:

Not on you but what is the Pshat in the Rambam's Nusach?

You sort of mentioned this, but lmaiseh how does the Beis Haleivi Pshat work if the Mecahber himself holds they do not make brachos on Mitzvas Asei Shehzman garma. The Rosh Hayehiva Shlit"a asked this on the Gaon in Hilchos Birchas HaTorah that is metzayim the shita of the Rama on the Mechaber there.

It could be I missed a point but, according to the Beis Haleivi seemingly it has nothing to do with the fact that they need to learn the halachos for them to do it, but doesn't the Smag imply tha…

Reb Yitzchok this was beautiful! Loved it! Why can't the magen avroham say even according to the bais haleivi's understanding of the smag, that just like you are saying the reason why ladies make a brach on Torah is because they are able to be mkayim the mitzvah, so too you should be able o make the bracha of al toirascha in benching because we have the ability to be mkayim. Its not on the chiyuv talmud torah its on the ability to learn it. Menaing really its even better because really all your saying is thank you hashem for the torah you taught us so we can pashut perform the mitzvah. (maybe you dont even have to say kiyum…

I agree with you that what you’re saying makes a lot sense, however it seems like from the Poskim that the paragraph of “Nodeh Lecha” is referring to the zchusim that Hashem gave us in order that we can get Eretz Yisroel, and I think that they understand that there’s has to be a certain level of Chiyuv for that Zchus.

I am not sure why what you’re saying isn’t the simple pshat though

Interesting and enjoyable chabura - thank you. Besides bais Halaevi point that if shychus to kium that can make bracha - in terms of thanking in benching, even though only practical reason to learn by definition since they have to do these mitzvos indirectly there is a chiuyuv to learn as well...

That is a very good point, however it would be a different Chiyuv than the mitzvah of Talmud Torah, it would be an extension of the Mitzvah that they are “researching/learning”. So although they can make a Birchas haTorah, the Bais Halevi understands that the Thanks in Bentching is for the Chiyuv of Talmud Torah not just the Chiyuv to learn, so they can’t make that
